The British German Shepherd Dog
Training Club
Welcome to the website of
Established in 1928

The British German Shepherd Dog Training Club was formed in 1928 and ever since the club has sought to provide the North West of England with services to cover all aspects of training; pet obedience, competitive obedience, GSD breed ringcraft and latterly BH training. Contacts are now in place to help anyone wishing to train for their BH qualification (begleithund, the first step towards Schutzhund trials).
Today the club has annual obedience CC status and hosts a full weekend of competition every July, with an Open show on the Saturday and Championship show on the Sunday; over 1000 entries is not uncommon for these shows.
From 2011 GSD breed shows will be held under WUSV rules, where all dogs must carry identification, (tattoo or microchip), all dogs over 12 months of age must pass a gun test, and all dogs over 2 years of age must have passed a breed survey or korung.

Training classes are held on Mondays (except bank holidays) at Liverpool and St Helens RFC , Moss Lane, Windle, St Helens, Merseyside WA11 7PL. Approximately 7pm onwards.
